About
the Therapist
I
am Gweneth Dietrich, born 1948 in Toledo, Ohio, and have
lived in San Francisco since 1975. I'm a mother and grandmother
of school-aged and grown children. In my spiritual practice
I am also known as Rose M. Dance.

I
am a Master Hypnotist, a Certified Hypnotherapist, also
certified by the American Council Of Hypnotist Examiners,
and work as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. I trained at the
Hypnotherapy Training Institute in Corte Madera, California,
and was taught by Marleen Mulder, Randal Churchill, and
Ormond McGill.

I
worked for 20 years in the Harm Reduction Movement, counseling active
and recovering injection drug users. I trained and counseled the
counselors at the Urban Health Study in San Francisco and helped
found Prevention Point Needle Exchange. I've advised many counselors
and street outreach workers, and have used that environment as a
crucible for developing methods to overcome burnout as well as to
create healing ways for healers.
I
have been active in the Reclaiming Collective, a Center for Feminist
Spirituality, since 1980. I teach meditation, healing, ritual exploration,
and a new self-hypnosis class for Reclaiming. I have practiced since
the late 1970s as an alternative healer, so training in Hypnotherapy
was a very attractive choice for me. I also have a long history
in the Nonviolence movement, and I benefit from years of training
and practice in on-the-ground conflict resolution.
The
focus of my hypnotherapy practice is both practical and spiritual.
For meaningful growth in our lives, we need both bread and roses
-- food for the true body and the body of down-to-earth matters,
and food for the spirit and dreams. I love working with clients,
and Hypnotherapy gives me a way to helpfully accompany those who
seek to improve the quality of life.
